The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County (BBBSLC) is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
To achieve this mission, we focus on under-resourced families and supplement our strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships with group mentoring, supportive programming, and family engagement strategies that change children’s lives for the better, forever.
In partnership with parents/guardians, volunteers, schools, and others in the community, BBBSLC focuses on holding ourselves accountable for each young person in the program achieving:
- Aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships
- Avoidance of risky behavior
- Educational success, high school graduation, and
- A plan for the future
