Named after the year that both the City of Oberlin and Oberlin College were founded by John Jay Shipherd and Philo P. Stewart- our signature restaurant, 1833, is centered on the people who grow food for themselves, their friends, their neighbors and the larger community. 1833 features small plates and social fare simply put as the "perfect bite". Our socially driven menus offer heightened awareness and partnering with the farmer sharing the importance of their story through the thought and care put in our food.
Traditional classics with modern technologies and preparations by incorporating involved spices and flavors brought together from all corners of the world. A classic meat and potatoes interpretation with locally grown heirloom "stacked" potatoes and house cut ribeye. Real food for Real People. Bringing our story through the vast seasonal changes to withstand the tests time.
