Originally opened as the Lord Jeffrey Inn in 1926, the Inn was built to accommodate the growing number of visitors to Amherst College, offering a welcoming space for alumni, scholars, and travelers alike. Over the decades, the Inn has evolved, reflecting the town's rich history and the vibrant academic community it serves.

A Modern Renovation

In 2012, a major renovation modernized the Inn while preserving its historic charm, culminating in the name change to the Inn on Boltwood in 2019. This transformation pays homage to our storied past while embracing the future, creating a seamless blend of traditional elegance and contemporary comfort. The Inn on Boltwood continues to be a beloved gathering place, offering guests an inviting retreat steeped in the history and culture of Amherst.
