A Message Regarding Coronavirus and COVID-19
UPDATED JUNE 29, 2020
The COVID19 Pandemic has impacted our world in so many ways. While businesses across the country are beginning to reopen, we have many new guidelines we must adhere to in order to be safe as a community. Social distancing, the use of personal protective equipment, and enhanced disinfecting is now the way of life for us. As Oberlin College prepares for a return to in-person, on-campus instruction the administration has had to revise operating procedures to create an experience that is as safe as possible for students, faculty, and staff. Among the College’s initiatives to maintain social distancing and other best practices in all areas, including student housing, all students will now reside in single rooms.
The Hotel at Oberlin, a college-owned property, will temporarily suspend our service operations for the 2020-2021 academic year to support Oberlin College with its commitment to provide individual housing for each student. In addition, all of our meeting space will be utilized for classroom space. Guestroom and event space operations will resume in June 2021.
Although we will not be able to allow overnight guests or host meetings and events for the time being, we are thrilled to still be able to welcome diners to our restaurant and bar, 1833.
We look forward to welcoming you back to The Hotel at Oberlin in June 2021. We invite you to subscribe to our emails to stay in touch and up to date on our plans for re-opening and information regarding 1833. You may also call us with any questions.
All the associates at the Hotel at Oberlin wish you and your families good health and wellness.
